6 reasons for the nevisCura Bed Sensor
Effective fall prevention
40% of falls are prevented, thus avoiding loss of revenue due to hospital stays and making care work more efficient.
A bed exit is detected as soon as a leg is swung over the edge of the bed. This saves nursing staff valuable time.
Easy to clean and low maintenance
The nevisCura bed sensor can be cleaned with a wipe and, if necessary, paused or switched off using the control button. The workmanship is extremely robust and can withstand the rough and tumble of everyday care. If the worst comes to the worst, repairs can be carried out quickly and inexpensively.
Intelligent alerting
The nevisCura bed sensor can distinguish between a person getting out of bed and a dropped blanket or a person in front of the bed. For this purpose, the bed sensor has intelligent software that has learned to distinguish between different situations with the help of AI, among other things.
Unobtrusive and dementia-sensitive
The nevisCura bed sensor is available in different colors to match any bed. The bed sensor is therefore extremely unobtrusive and is not noticed, especially by people with dementia.
Installation in a few simple steps
The nevisCura bed sensor can be installed in just a few simple steps. This means it can be put into operation or removed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Expensive training and certifications are no longer necessary.
Cost-effective and future-proof
Thanks to its flexibility, the nevisCura bed sensor offers an extremely good cost-benefit ratio.
The nevisCura bed sensor can also be retrofitted with software updates or device upgrades so that the bed sensor moves with the times. Software updates can easily be carried out on site using an app.

Pair with alarm system
Alarm connection – We make it easy for you
Whether brand new or 30 years old: nevisCura products can be connected to any alarm system. We have already gained experience with over 100 different variants. We have used the knowledge gained from this to make connecting to your alarm system as easy as possible.
nevisCura Wireless Receiver
The nevisCura wireless receiver can be used with most nurse call systems. Installation is very easy: plug the radio receiver into the wall unit, pair the radio receiver and bed sensor, and you’re done.
Depending on the model, you can switch between different variants of a nevisCura wireless receiver, e.g. between quiescent current and operating current or with regard to the power supply.
The wireless receiver also continuously monitors the connection to the bed sensor. If the bed sensor cannot be reached for approx. 30 seconds, this is reported via the call system.
nevisCura Adapter Box
If the nevisCura radio receiver cannot be used, the nevisCura adapter box is used instead; this is the case with some nurse call systems and also with home emergency call systems. The respective radio transmitter or connection cable is then installed in the adapter box. The adapter box then only needs to be plugged between the bed sensor and the socket and coupled with the respective alarm system.
The nevisCura adapter box is extremely robust and can easily withstand major impacts.
Unobtrusive and chic - matching the color of the bed
Natural beech
The bestseller! Ideal for care beds in the classic beech shade.
This color is used in many care facilities.

FAQ
General
How does the installation of the nevisCura bed sensor work?
The installation can easily be carried out by a caregiver or home technician. The already assembled bed sensor can be attached to the bed and connected to an alarm unit in just a few steps following the instructions.
Can the bed sensor be changed quickly between beds?
Yes, the bed sensor can be changed between beds quickly and without the use of tools. This can be done by anyone, no trained or certified personnel are required.
Does the weight of the resident have an influence on the accuracy?
No, unlike other systems, the weight of the resident has no influence on the accuracy of bed exit detection.
How does the nevisCura bed sensor work?
Various sensors are installed in the bed sensor, which record different measured variables. Some sensors can distinguish a person from a blanket, others measure movements in and around the bed. Software is used to evaluate the sensor data and recognize different scenarios based on trained algorithms. For example, a person getting out of bed can be distinguished from a comforter falling out.
Connection to alarm
Is the bed sensor compatible with my nurse call system/alarm unit?
The bed sensor can be connected to any nurse call system, telephone system or home emergency call system. We have already gained experience with over 100 different variants and can customize the alarm connection for your model.
I don't have any more free sockets for the nurse call system in a resident's room. How can I connect nevisCura devices?
The connection of nevisCura devices is almost always radio-based. The nevisCura radio receiver has an additional connection socket so that other connected devices can continue to be used. The functions of the nurse call system remain fully intact.
How many devices can be connected to a call system at the same time?
With the nevisCura radio receiver, one device can currently be connected via a socket and one device via radio. In the future, it will be possible to connect several devices to a single radio receiver via radio.
Is the connection of nevisCura products compliant with DIN 0834 (“nurse call system standard”)?
In principle, the function of the nurse call system is not restricted by nevisCura products, i.e. if a nurse call system without nevisCura products was compliant with DIN 0834, it is also compliant with nevisCura products.
If the nurse call system has a so-called “plug disconnect” function, then this function is always available with nevisCura devices. This means that if there is a call as soon as a device is pulled out of the call switch in the wall, a call also sounds when the nevisCura radio receiver is pulled out of the wall unit or when the pear push-button is pulled off the radio receiver.
In addition, the nevisCura radio receiver continuously checks the connection to the devices connected via radio. If a connected device such as a nevisCura bed sensor can no longer be reached, a call is sent via the call system after a maximum of 30 seconds in accordance with DIN 0834.
If the call system itself has no unplugging function (this is possible with working current), an alarm is still triggered as soon as the radio receiver is unplugged if the radio receiver is supplied with power via an external power supply unit.
Technical
How do the alarms reach the nursing staff?
The nevisCura bed sensor can be connected to an existing nurse call system, telephone system or a home emergency call system on site. For this purpose, nevisQ usually prepares a suitable adapter for the desired alarm unit. We have experience with over 100 different call system variants, whether old or new. The nursing staff then receive the alarms on their telephones, so they do not have to get used to them or carry a second device with them. We prepare everything, the bed sensor can be installed and connected to the nurse call system in a few simple steps.
There is also the option of receiving alarms via a dedicated online portal, which can be accessed via a PC, tablet or smartphone.
Is an Internet connection or Wi-Fi required to use the nevisCura bed sensor?
No. The basic functions can be used without Wi-Fi.
However, the nevisCura bed sensor and the nevisCura wireless receiver can be connected directly to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi.
Which interfaces can be used for the alarm?
The most suitable interfaces are
Nurse call systems: via a potential-free contact, by radio or cable
Home emergency call: via a potential-free contact
Radio chime: via a radio transmitter
App: via a software interface
Is the sensor technology dangerous?
No, the sensors are also used in many other areas of everyday life.
Is there a risk of injury?
No. The nevisCura products have a deliberately rounded design with a soft plastic surface so that there is no risk of injury.
Can care staff recognize whether a call has been triggered by a resident or the bed sensor?
This depends on the nurse call system. The nurse call system must be technically capable of differentiating between calls and displaying different call types on the telephone display, e.g. call or diagnostics.
Legal
Is the nevisCura bed sensor a medical device?
No, the nevisCura bed sensor is not classified as a medical device. We have deliberately decided to do this so that the bed sensor can be operated simply and easily by anyone.
Who must give their consent to use the nevisCura bed sensor?
The decision can be made by the facility itself.
Do I have to fear legal consequences if care staff do not make it to the resident in time after an alarm from the bed sensor and are therefore no longer able to prevent the fall?
Basically, the nevisCura bed sensor alerts care staff to bed exits much more quickly than without a bed sensor. This means that the use of the bed sensor is always an improvement and can never lead to a deterioration in care work. It is up to the nursing staff to prioritize tasks according to urgency and importance. An alarm from the bed sensor should be treated in the same way as if the person in question had rung the bell.
The use of the nevisCura bed sensor is viewed positively by local courts and the home supervisory authority as it improves the prevention of falls. In some cases, there may even be legal consequences if fall prevention measures such as the nevisCura bed sensor are not used.
Is the nevisCura bed sensor a liberty-depriving measure?
No. This has been confirmed by several local courts. The basic principle of the bed sensor is comparable with step mats, which are not considered a measure that deprives people of their liberty. According to the expert standard on falls, sensors are recommended for targeted use with certain residents.
